Virtual Screening – The Architecture of Mughal India: Palaces, Mosques, Gardens and Mausoleums
Members of ADFAS Byron received an unexpected surprise at our first get together for 2021 – the virtual screening of UK Lecturer – Dr John Stevens’ lecture – The Architecture of Mughal India: Palaces, Mosques, Gardens and Mausoleums.
With a laptop and internet connected via mobile phone hotspot, the lecture was screened to a receptive audience, delighted at the chance to meet up again over our usual welcome glass of wine. Before entering the venue, members and guests registered electronically on ADFAS Byron’s recently acquired COVID Safe check-in QR code, with the option of pen and paper registration.
The surprise came at the end of the lecture with a Zoom connection into the lecturer’s locked down apartment in Central London, for an early morning live question and answer session. At its conclusion, John received a rousing standing ovation from an audience, delighted at the quality of his lecture, the live discussion afterwards and the ability of the technology to deliver the real-life experience craved by all.
