A MUSICIAL INTERLUDE FOR TOOWOOMBA

ADFAS Toowoomba were rather disappointed to miss out on filmmaker Ben Gilmour’s lecture due to travel restrictions this month.  But instead, this innovative committee replaced the event with a magnificent production of their own. Chairman Peter Schneider, with local pianist Joy Glennie put together a presentation of a different kind – a musical lecture.

‘Exploring the Ages of Music’ took members and friends on a journey through the different ages of music using musical pieces typical of each era to demonstrate the different styles. With Peter on cello and Joy on piano keyboard, alternating with them both on keyboard, the audience was treated to eleven musical pieces which were beautifully played by Joy and Peter.

National Chairman Sue Drummond travelled from Brisbane to attend.  It was a fabulous evening and the members of ADFAS Toowoomba loved what turned out to be a very different presentation. Coincidentally, Joy is a former chairman of ADFAS Cairns. Both Peter and Joy have various music degrees and Joy is a former university lecturer in music.
