Young Arts Awards
KATHRYN DICKSON was selected as ADFAS Sydney’s
inaugural final year ceramics student from the National Art
School, Sydney awarded as the most outstanding student in
the 2006 Bachelor of Fine Arts program. She gave a presentation
before the two May lectures illustrated by images (two are
illustrated) of her sensitively built ceramic bowls and slab-layered
forms as installations. These were much appreciated by members.
This National Art School scholarship is in addition to our
long-standing scholarship to a second year student at the College
of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales. The 2006 recipient
was JAMES LYLE who will give a similar presentation about his
work to the membership in August.
