Pauline Hopkins Cup
The Pauline Hopkins Cup was awarded for the first time to an ADFAS Society in September 2008. ADFAS Dubbo & Districts was selected as the Society to receive this special recognition in 2008 from the nominations received from ADFAS Adelaide, Bowral, Dubbo & Districts, Gold Coast, Mornington Peninsula and Newcastle .
The task of selecting one Society was very difficult for the judging panel, who suggest that all entries deserved commendation.
Dubbo & District's nomination was selected and voted as outstanding with an extra edge in promoting a broad range of involvement in the arts in music, drama and dance as well as the visual arts, over a period of time. The program involves participants and ADFAS in the activities of a wider range of local arts institutions: primary and secondary schools as well as TAFE and tertiary campuses with the Eisteddfod, the Western Plains Cultural Centre and Gallery and ADFAS itself through free entry to lectures.

Bob North receives the Cup from National Chairman, Charlotte Nattey,
on behalf of ADFAS Dubbo & Districts.
The Pauline Hopkins Cup was presented to the Association of Australian Decorative & Fine Arts Societies by Pauline Hopkins with the suggestion that it be used to promote Young Arts in Australia . Pauline Hopkins regularly visited Australian and many ADFAS societies during her term as the NADFADS Overseas Area Representative from 2001 to May 2005.
The Cup will be presented to an ADFAS Society annually as special recognition for an innovative and exciting Young Arts program.
