Societies

There are 34 ADFAS societies across Australia - to contact one near you, select from the list below.

Societies have been formed in nearly all of the capital cities of Australia and in many of the regional centres. Each society is incorporated and run on a voluntary basis by a Chairman and Committee.

The members of each ADFAS pay an annual subscription which enables the society to organise a program of 6 to 9 lectures a year. Each lecture is well illustrated, lasts for an hour, and is followed by light refreshments and an opportunity to meet the lecturer.

Some societies also organise extra activities such as special interest days, where topics can be examined in more detail with the lecturer, and visits to museums, galleries, private collections and places of architectural or artistic interest.

Australian Societies are divided into three circuits named after Australian explorers - Hume, Cook and Flinders.
